Paul LeGrand, CEO
I’ve been in the investigation business over 25 years, holding a California PI/Qualified Manager license since 2001, and a Colorado Level 2 Private Investigator’s license since 2018. My first investigative job was a field surveillance position working out of a big insurance support firm’s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, where I quickly moved up to team leader and corporate trainer assignments. I covered many assignments involving media notables, gaining a strong background in threat assessment and management along the way.

In early 2001 the State of California issued me a PI/Qualified Manager license, and then a few months later, the unthinkable happened. On September 11, 2001 the threat assessment world changed. At the urging of several of my professional friends, I started my own firm and was immediately swamped with work, mostly from other investigative firms that needed support in the areas of field surveillance and protective intelligence. We quickly had to adapt beyond the original core competencies of camera work and surveillance driving. The company quickly gained an industry insider’s reputation for protective intelligence surveillance, threat assessment backgrounds, and deep dive background work.  Combined, these new and powerful skill sets enabled me to help clients with needs far beyond our original specialties.  My clients are often attorneys defending employment law claims, class-action matters, or complex tort claims where significant financial exposure is the norm rather that the exception.  Additionally, I help investment partners and deal makers acquire the right pre-transactional intelligence to invest wisely, and help human resource professionals with C-suite hires and other sensitive matters requiring careful attention.

I'm looking forward to being able to serve you in all your investigative needs.

About Paul LeGrand
Licensed in California and Colorado, and able to conduct on-site operations in ten additional states through reciprocal licensing agreements, the company is both small enough to maintain the detail-oriented personal relationships our discerning clients have come to expect, and mighty enough to have the right “access to tools.” Over the years, our firm has seen business, the corporate world, and litigation change. We are constantly adapting our methods and tactics to give our firm's clients the most up to date, relevant information possible at all times.

Our client list has included high net worth individuals, the Attorney General’s office, the Parole Board, the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, and California Highway Patrol, as well as media industry notables and some of the largest corporations in the world. In the company’s formative, post-9/11 years, the heart of the company’s operations was conducting was field surveillance operations and collecting and analyzing protective intelligence. Since those early days, the firm has extended its core competencies to include pre-transaction intelligence for investment deals, robust litigation support for labor and employment lawyers, background investigations for executive hires, and many other investigative needs.
